About Yuba
Yuba was founded in 2006 by Benjamin Sarrazin in a shipping container in Northern California, very close to the Yuba River, where Ben loved to kayak. Even before founding the company, Ben had traveled a lot around the world: in East Africa, where many traders transport their goods on two wheels. In Latin America, where unpaved roads and broken trucks make the bicycle the best means of transport. Many of the things he experienced on these trips annoyed him: garbage, pollution or social injustice. He realized that for many families and small businesses in remote areas, the bicycle is the best way to improve their lives.
This is how the idea came about to build bicycles that help people all over the world to make their everyday lives easier, more sustainable and more environmentally friendly. That's the idea behind Yuba's first model, which still bears the name "Mundo".
Now, over 15 years later, Yuba has grown a lot, but has remained true to its goals: more bikes, less cars. With its international team in Europe and the USA, Yuba is working to promote the cargo bike as a means of everyday transport and thereby do nothing less than improve the planet. Ben has now moved with his family and his company from California back to his native France and has set up his headquarters near Annecy, in the middle of the beautiful French Alps.
Yuba wants to create designs that attract attention and show people possibilities that inspire them. Yuba relies on trust through high-quality materials and standards and continues to develop innovative cargo bikes that offer that little bit extra. With and without electric support.
