About Yuba
Yuba was founded in 2006 in a shipping container in Northern California by Benjamin Sarrazin, very close to the Yuba River, where Ben loved to go kayaking. Even before founding the company, Ben traveled extensively around the world: in East Africa, where many traders transport their goods on two wheels; and in Latin America, where unpaved roads and broken-down trucks make the bicycle the best way to get around. Much of what he experienced on these journeys frustrated him: waste, pollution, and social injustice. He realized that for many families and small businesses in remote areas, the bicycle is the best way to improve their lives.
This led to the idea of building bicycles that help people everywhere in the world make their daily lives simpler, more sustainable, and more environmentally friendly. That is the idea behind Yuba's first model, which still bears the name "Mundo."
Now, over 17 years later, Yuba has grown significantly but has remained true to its goals: more bike, less car. With its international team in Europe and the USA, Yuba works to promote the cargo bike as a daily means of transport and, in doing so, to do nothing less than improve the planet. In the meantime, Ben has moved with his family and his company from California back to his native France and has established the company headquarters near Annecy, in the midst of the magnificent French Alps.
Yuba aims to create designs that catch the eye and show people possibilities that inspire them. Yuba builds trust through high-quality materials and standards and continues to develop innovative cargo bikes that offer that little bit extra—both with and without electric assistance.

Yuba supports 1% for the Planet
Yuba supports the "1% for the Planet" network with its add-on range. This means that Yuba donates 1% of the revenue generated through add-ons to this valuable initiative, which supports organizations around the globe in protecting the environment. From reforestation projects, biodiversity, and freshwater initiatives to renewable energy projects or increased urban sustainability: over 7,000 projects and initiatives worldwide are fully or partially funded through 1% for the Planet. Because Yuba also has its roots in the humble endeavor to make the world a little better, we have decided to get closer to this goal in this way as well.
