For a purchase as major as a cargo bike, it makes a lot of sense to consider installment payments. To enable cargo bike financing, we work together with Targobank as well as with finance-a-bike (a credit product of Volkswagen Bank). You simply select "Request an offer (for leasing, installment payment, or funding)" as the payment method in the shopping cart and choose your installment provider. They will then contact you.
A residency in Germany is a prerequisite for processing via installment payments!
Partial financing for your cargo bike is possible
You don't want to finance the entire cargo bike purchase in installments, but would rather pay a portion directly? That is absolutely no problem. Just select your installment provider anyway and get in touch with us at the same time. You are flexible when setting your installments and can spread out the payments.
Cargo bike installment payment - the comparison
Below you will find the conditions of our two installment payment providers. We recommend applying through Targobank first, and only trying finance-a-bike if that application is rejected. There are three reasons for this:
- The interest rates at finance-a-bike are higher.
- The data verification at finance-a-bike is stricter and more invasive than at Targobank.
- German residency.
- Max. credit limit €12,000, partial financing possible.
- Maximum term of 60 months
- For terms from 6 to 36 months, 3.9% effective annual interest rate
- For terms from 37 to 60 months, 5.9% effective annual interest rate
- German residency and mobile phone number.

- 0% during the first 30 days
- Maximum term of 48 months
- Effective annual interest rate of 5.12 to 6.91%, depending on the term
What do I need to do for my cargo bike installment payments?
- Choose your cargo bike
Configure your dream cargo bike using the configurator on our website. - Select installment payment
In the configurator under "Financing", select "Targobank" as the installment provider from the dropdown menu. After that, you can complete the order as normal and select "Request an offer" as the payment method. - Configure your monthly installment
As soon as we have entered your data, we will send you a link through which you can configure your monthly installments and apply for the financing. - Receive your cargo bike!
After approval by the provider, you can either pick up your cargo bike or have it delivered, depending on availability.
